Shalene H. McNeill, Ph.D., RDN is an internationally recognized nutrition scientist and registered dietitian with expertise in animal protein, especially beef’s role in human health and sustainable food systems. Raised on a cow-calf ranch in South Texas, Dr. McNeill earned a B.S. in Biomedical Science and a Ph.D. in Agriculture and Life Sciences from Texas A&M University, with a focus on enhancing food healthfulness. She is also a Registered Dietitian. Since 2005, Dr. McNeill has served as Executive Director of Nutrition Research at the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, leading over $30 million in beef nutrition research. She advocates for science-based transparency and supports healthy, sustainable diet initiatives across the industry. A trusted scientific voice, Dr. McNeill frequently speaks at national forums and media, educating the public on beef’s health benefits. She is active in the American Society for Nutrition, where she currently serves as Sustaining Partner Chair.
